2024-2025 Board Nominations

We are accepting nominations for open positions on the 2024-2025 Hillside PTO Executive Board from now until April 29th. If you’d love to get involved next school year, but in a less time-consuming way than a Board position, we will be sharing open Committee Chair positions soon!

We are so excited that volunteers have stepped up for every position. Thank you to each of them! There is still time for other interested candidates to nominate themselves: review the position descriptions below, then complete the Nomination Form (linked below) by April 29th. The election will take place on May 1st. 

Open Board Positions & Duties: Please review carefully to ensure that the required duties are a great fit for your time, availability, interests, and strengths! 

  • Treasurer (2 year commitment): 
    • Maintain custody of all the funds of the Organization
    • Keep a full and accurate account of receipts and expenditures
    • Make disbursements as authorized by the President, Executive Board, or Organization in accordance with the budget adopted by the Organization
    • Present a financial statement at every meeting of the Organization and at other times when requested by the Executive Board
    • Make a full report at the meeting at which new officers officially assume their duties (usually the annual meeting)
    • Have the accounts examined according to the auditing procedures outlined in Attachment A: Financial Operating Procedures
    • Participate in the annual budget development and approval process and prepare the final budget as developed by the Executive Committee for ratification by the membership within the first two weeks of the school year
    • Perform other delegated duties as assigned
    • Highly recommended qualifications: Financial and/or accounting background, accounting software proficiency, strong writing and organizational skills
  • VP of Events: 
    • Oversee and recruit committee chairs as assigned throughout the school year
    • Create and implement an Annual PTO Events Calendar with the goal of strengthening the Hillside community
    • Determine and communicate event scopes and budgets to Committee Chairs
    • Manage and support Committee Chairs to submit all necessary Facility Requests, Communications Requests, and Special Event Forms to Administration
    • Highly recommended qualifications: Canva proficiency, Google Suite proficiency, social media experience, team management and/or event coordination experience, strong writing and organizational skills
    • Secretary: 
      • Record and distribute the minutes of all meetings of the Organization
      • Have a current copy of the bylaws and membership list
      • Perform other delegated duties as needed. For the 2024-2025 school year, those delegated duties will include but not be limited to:
        • Ensuring that all Communications Requests are submitted by Committee Chairs according to the Annual Communications Calendar (created by the VP of Communications),
        • Support the Social Media Chair as needed
      • Highly recommended qualifications: Canva proficiency, Google Suite proficiency, social media experience, and strong writing and organizational skills

      Note: Co-Presidents Becca Koontz & Aliza Hallett and VP of Fundraising Lisa Lang will all be serving an additional year without the need for an election, as per Article VI Section 1 Clause G of the bylaws.
